GEOGRAPHY/LANDFORMS

  • Egypt was the first of many great African civilization.
  • In the West of African, the Kingdom of Ghana was a vast empire.
  • The kingdom of mall from the 13th to the 15th century.

GOVERNMENT

  • Africans played a direct role in the slave trade.
  • Captive slaves were considered "other" and not part of the tribe.
  • Some African kinds refused to sell any of their captives or criminals.

CULTURE

  • Took place across the Atlantic Ocean from the 16th centuries to the 19th.
  • Majority of those enslaved that were transported to the New World.
  • Historians estimates that more then 15 million Africans were forced to leave Africa.

EVENTS

  • 1502- First reported African slaves in the New World.
  • 1793- Waves of white refugees pour into United States Port fleeing insurrection in San Domingo

  • West Indies 4.5 million

  • Baba- Famous Muslim slave trader
