PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Democritus's model of the atom was a basic model and consisted of a solid nucleus with nothing inside of it.
Created in 400 B.C.

Dalton's model of the atom was a version of the Democritus model. Dalton compared his model to a Billiard Ball. His model says that it's a solid nucleus and nothing inside.
Created in 1808.

Thomson's model of an atom varied significantly to Democritus and Dalton's models. He discovered the electron and said his model was like a plum pudding. The electrons are the plums and the positive space is the pudding.
Created in 1897.

Ernest Rutherford's model changed history by. Making the gold foil experiment showing that the atom is mostly empty space. His experiment showed atoms bouncing back and forth through gold foil.
Created in 1910.

Niels Bohr updated Rutherford's model by saying the electrons moved around the nucleus in fixed orbits. He was later proven wrong that orbit is random.
Created in 1915.
