PRESENTATION OUTLINE

HOW ATP RELEASES ENERGY

  • The triphosphate loses a phosphate
  • The break of the phosphate needs energy but it also make some

GLYCOLYSIS

  • Sugar is broken down in the cytoplasm
  • The broken down sugar is called pyruvate
  • Later it's broken down more by the cell
  • The cell breaks down the pyruvate to make energy, H2O and CO2
  • Glucose is used by muscles and plants

FERMENTATION

  • It's the same as glycolysis
  • The sugar is broken down
  • But not all the way
  • And this process doesn't create H2O or CO2
  • It just makes energy

KREB'S CYCLE

  • A bunch of chemical reactions that make ATP
  • Takes in sun, CO2 and H2O and makes it into O and Glucose
  • Then makes sugar
  • Takes NADH and ATP to make glucose
  • Used by chlorophyll

ELECTRON TRANSPORT CHAIN

  • NADH and FADH2 produced during glycolysis
  • ATP is made from ETC is called chemiosmotic phosphorolation
  • receives electrons from several different electron carriers
