PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ATTICUS FINCH

TO KILL A MOCKINBIRD

CHILDREN

  • Jem
  • Scout

He works as a lawyer in a small town called Maycomb. The story is set back in the 1930s, where racism was common.

We know he has a case working with a black man, which is causing him and his family to be discriminated against by the racist people of Maycomb.

His children, Jem and Scout look up to him and respect him. They'll do anything he wants them to.

Jem and Scout have found out that their father was the best shot in Maycomb back in his day, which he has kept a secret from them.

Scout has a short fuse and tends to lash out, especially when someone talks badly about Atticus.

Jem doesn't seem to be as short fused as his sister, and seems to be the more responsible of the two.

He tries to be the best example possible for his children.

Questions:
Do you realise how much trouble the case is causing your children?
Why didn't you tell them about your shooting skills?
