AUDIENCE ETIQUETTE

CELL PHONES

  • Texting is inappropriate during performances
  • Although silent, the bright light is very distracting
  • In general, you should just turn your phone off as a precaution.

DON'T EAT DURNING PERFORMAMCE

  • If you do plan to eat during a performamce, unwrap candy before the show.
  • Eating during performances is usually rude except for during movies.
  • Eating not only makes a mess, but also can be distracting to other viewers.

WAIT UNTIL INTERMISSION TO LEAVE

  • Leaving during the performance is impolite
  • If you have to use the bathroom wait until the intermission
  • Leaving can be loud and distracting for everyone

DON'T TALK

  • Not talking during a performamce is the simplest rule
  • Wait until intermission to talk or if you have too talk whisper
  • Talking can and will distract everyone around you and is extremely rude

DON'T FALL ASLEEP

  • How hard is it to not fall asleep during a performance?
  • Even if it is boring, just stay awake so you don't discourage actors
  • Falling asleep takes away from the show for everyone around you

CONCLUSION

  • Following theatre rules are very easy
  • By following them, you make the show much more enjoyable
