Problem:
The problem in my story is that when Ben, Ben's little brother, Harry, and their mom visit Ben and Harry's grandpa, Ojisan, in Sogohama, Japan, there is a major tsunami in the city that causes tons of destruction, and Ben gets separated from the rest of his family.

BEGINNING

  • Ben and Harry miss their dad who died and they think about him alot
  • Ben, Harry and their mom go to visit their dad's dad, Ojisan, in Sogohama, Japan.
  • They haven't seen him or his cat, Nya, in a long time.
  • Harry falls out of Ojisan's tree and has to get stitches.

MIDDLE

  • A class nine earthquake hits the city, causing damage to most of it.
  • The earthquake results in a MASSIVE tsunami.
  • The family gets in the car and drives away from the tsunami.
  • Ben escapes the underwater car and floats on a mattress to safety.

END
Ben finds shelter at a school on a mountain, where there are more victims looking for shelter and their family members. There he is put in charge of three little Japanese kids. Eventually, Ben's family shows up and they are reunited.

Character Traits- Ben:
Ben is brave because when the tsunami hits, he breaks his car window and floats on a mattress alone to shelter. And Ben is compassionate because when he saw Nya, their grandfather's cat, in the water, he scooped her up and put her on the mattress he was riding on.

Character Traits- Harry:
Harry, Ben's little brother, is a good listener and trusting because when Ben yells to get under the bed during the earthquake, Harry immediately does. And Harry is kind because he remembered to grab Nya when he hid under the bed.

Character Traits- Mom:
Ben and Harry's mom is selfless because when the tsunami hits, she lets Ben go first when the window breaks. She is also experienced because she said the Air Force trained her for times like this.

Character Traits- Ojisan:
Ojisan is smart because when the earthquake and tsunami hit, he knows exactly what to do. And he is wise because of his experience with quakes.
