Sing and respond to the steady beat
Improvise simple rhythmic accompaniments using body percussion
Compose a 4 beat body percussion pattern
If there is time add instruments to the song using instruments for parts of the body.

Third through sixth grade
1b;1,2a;1,3; 3,1;3,2;3,3 Clap some rhythms and have the students repeat after you.
2) Explain the cards as each comes up, demonstrating the correct use of counting the rhythms.
3) Time permitting use the book for their grade level and work with the various songs that talk about rhythm.
4) Students sing.

Write about the experience of counting the notes.
