• In 1243 many hermit groups were ordered to follow the way of Saint Augustine by pope innocent IV
• Many others then were ordered to join them in there lifestyle
• They were founded due to the mendicant movement in the 13th century

EVERYDAY LIFE

• The Augustinians are not concerned with daily routines or other processes like other orders follow
• Many Augustinians dedicate their lives to teaching others
• Their chief law to guide their life is love your neighbor as yourself

SERVICE

• A large part of service Augustinians do is dedicating their lives to education
• Augustinians also are very active in missionary work
