CHILDHOOD

  • Aung San Suu Kyi was the daughter of Burma's independence hero.
  • Her father assassinated when she was only two years old.
  • She had two brothers one of which who died in a swimming accident.
  • The other one migrated to San Diego, Californa.
  • Her mother was ambassador for India and Nepal.

COLLEGE AND STUDIES

  • She attended Lady Shri Ram College of Delhi University.
  • In 1967 she received a B.A degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
  • In 1972 while she was studying she married Michael Aris.

WHAT SHE WANTED

  • After her mother's death was announced " that her father and mother worked for Burma so she would too.
  • Then she traveled throughout the country delivering speeches in support of democracy.
  • On July 29, 1988 she was placed under house arrest. While she was in her house, she was gavin the Nobel peace medal .
  • During that time her husband was dying. She a choice to leave her house and go to see him. But she wouldn't be aloud back in the country. So she left her dying husband in England.
  • Finally on November 13, 2010 she was released from house arrest.

MAKING A CHANGE IN HER COUNTRY

  • She thought she could make a change because she never gave up and she fought for what was right.
  • Aung San Suu Kyi was not killed fighting for was right however she went through many struggles.
