HOW DOES LEARNING THE PAST INFLUENCE THOUGHTS IN THE FUTURE?

  • Learning the history of a tragic event helps you
  • get an understanding of what it felt like to live
  • during that time. You think about what people
  • went through and you don't want to go through
  • the same, meaning you'll help to prevent it.

EVERYONE'S CREATED EQUAL

  • Auschwitz, created by the Nazis, was a death camp to kill Jews.
  • The Nazis thought the Jews were inferior to them, however no group
  • of people is worth less than the other. Even today there are
  • groups of people who think they are superior to others.

CONDITIONS

  • While living in Auschwitz the Jews lived in terrible conditions
  • and some caused discomfort and humiliation. They had to share
  • mattresses and sometimes they even peed on themselves because
  • they weren't allowed to use the bathroom at the time. Don't try to
  • embarrasses or make someone uncomfortable to make them feel shameful.
