PRESENTATION OUTLINE

AUTHOR BIAS

What is author bias?

Author bias is when the author holds a strong opinion aganist an argument/advertisement

If you had to break down author bias, the four main points would be GELO.

GELO

  • G - generalization
  • E - exaggeration
  • L - loaded words
  • O - opinion

Examples of Author bias:

I prefer long jump over triple jump. I like long jump better because it's simple and easy. On the other hand, triple jump is confusing and it doesn't take a lot to stuff up.

Another example would be:
Tess Landry one an award for best book of the year. Jordan Mcfluken, got up on stage an told the crowd that Lulu Fitz's book was much better because the pages were made out of pure gold.
