EARLY LIFE

birthplace, family, and childhood

  • T.S.Eliot was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, U.S. His father was a successful businessman
His mother wrote poetry and was a social worker, a new profession in the early 20th century.

Eliot was the last of six surviving children; his parents were both 44 years old when he was born
Eliot has four sisters and were between 11 and 19 years older
His brother was eight years older.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

In 1905, he got the chance and entered Harvard University.
And it was very comfortable for him for his new student life.
The courses that he chose were not easy, but he keep focusing and putting efforts, he finally got the master's degree of the English Literature.
In 1910, he left The U.S and went to the Sorbonne University that located in Paris.
He startto learn and focus on art and academic.
He listened the philosophical curriculum there and he has been enchanted by that. This made him become the doctor of Philosophy degree.d

  • 1948 was the year of honors of Eliot.
Eliot graduated in Harvard in 1909 with a Bachelor of all degree.



In 1911 Eliot was back to Harvard, where he depend his knowledge by reading Indian philosophy and studying and studying Sanskilt.
He soon married Vivienne Haigh-wood and took a job in Landon England as school teacher.

WORKS AND AWARDS

T.S.Eliot do has a lot famous and seductive literature. Just like "The love song of J.Alfred Prufrock" in 1915, "The waste land" in 1922 and "Four Quartets"in 1943. Because of all those great work he do get Nobel prize in Literature in 1948 and Order of Merit in 1948.
