Parvana said "Get out of our house." When the Taliban came into her house to take away father. She grabbed the wrist of the Taliban and tried to rip her father away from the Taliban's reach. Parvana hit the Taliban with such force that they both fell over then she punched them with here fists.
A time when I was brave was when my friend Abby and I were in the forest, and then out of nowhere a huge black dog started chasing us throughout the forest. We were terribly scared then my dad came and rescued us by ripping the dog away and then he yelled at him until he sauntered away scared.
Mrs. Weera is sporty because in chapter 5, and on page 60 Parvana had run into Mrs. Weera when she had been chased by the Taliban throughout the streets. Parvana tried to run away but Mrs. Weera had a firm grip on her arm. Parvana looked up and said " Mrs. Weera?" Mrs. Weera had been the gym teacher at Parvana's school before she got fired along with all the other women in Afghanistan who had jobs by the Taliban.
Also another time when we read about Mrs. Weera's sporty behaviour was in chapter 9 - and on page 100. Mrs. Weera wanted to set up at secret school in Parvana's apartment. Mrs.Weera wants to teach field hockey like she used to when she could teach physical education at the school.
A connection that I have with Mrs. Weera was that she has won many medals in races and I have won many ribbons and medals too. I have won them during softball, track and field, and cross country.
Another connection that I have with Mrs. Weera is that she is encouraging towards the people that are playing sports. She encourages them to hustle and that they are doing a great job. I like to encourage my friends to. Especially a girl that is on my softball team, that worries she is not good enough to be on the team. I always tell her that she is a superstar and that she is a great softball player.
"Here I brought you these!" She handed Parvana a bundle of wrapped up apricots. There was one for each of her family, plus one for her to eat on the way home.
Shauzia was a good friend when she went over to Parvana's house to say hello to everyone because sh e had not seen Parvan's family, since girls were banned from school.
Page 99 - Chapter 9
Also another time Shauzia had been a good friend was when she told Parvana that she would keep watch over the bones for her while she went to the bathroom, even though she had to go pretty bad too.
A connection that I have with Shauzia is that she is a good friend, and I am a good friend too!!! I like to make other people included, and I also like to include people that don't have many friends. So far I have been very successful. I really like to make new friends, and I hope that in the future I can make lots of people feel included and not be left out!!!
