Old baldy is 110 feet tall. The base is 36 feet wide and the top is 14.6 feet wide.

Old baldy was built to mark the entrance of the Cape fear river for sailors.
Old baldy got its name because it's the oldest lighthouse in North Carolina and it's in Bald Head island.
