What are the traditional roles of Balinese people?

MEN
The roles of balinese men are very distinct in Bali. Balinese men tend cattle, cultivate fields, work on rice fields, look after properties, cook for their families, make handicrafts and build Bali style structures. Although, if you ever go to Bali you will see men bargaining with people on the streets, trying to get them to buy all sorts of things.

the first year of a Balinese childs life is filled with rituals, community feasting and prayers for the goodwill and strenth of the baby. A cloth sling attached to the front or back of the mother, aunty or older older sister is home for the baby in it's first year. There is always someone watching over the baby.

traditional housing of balinese families.

There are many different kinds of houses in Indonesian villiages, many people continue to build their houses in traditional ways but some use modern materials.

Many villages, especially remote areas try to preserve their traditional way of life, so they build their houses the same way they always have.

In some villages people have houses over 100 metres long and up to twenty families can live in them at one time.
