Know where to shoot (preferably heart or lung shot)
Have patience to make a clean shot
Choose the proper shot angle (broadside, or quartering)

APPROACHING A DOWNED ANIMAL
Approach the large game from behind their head
Wait at a distance for a few minutes to confirm the death
If the animal is still alive take another quick shot to the heart
Finally tag your kill with the appropriate game tag

CLEANING THE GAME
Clean it quickly and carefully so that bacteria doesn't start growing
Immediately put the meat on ice to keep cool and keep it from spoiling
