• Basketball is one of the most famous sports all around the world.
• It started when James Naismith wanted a game that would keep his men in shape over the summer.
• It was at first just a peach basket on a pole, and every time they made it in the basket they had to get a ladder to get the ball out of the basket.

• James remembered a game from his childhood call "duck on a rock." A game that was sure to keep his players in shape.
• "Duck on a rock" was when a person would put a "duck" on a rock and try to knock it off using another "duck."

• Micheal Jordan changed the way basketball was played. The way he played greatly influenced a lot of people.
• Today it is a great game for people to play with some friends, just go to a court and have a pick-up game. Basketball is also very popular on TV.
