The battle of Fort Sumter happened at Fort Sumter near Charlestown in South Carolina. It took place on April 12-14, 1861. It was a very short battle since it lasted only two days. It was short because Fort Sumter was under siege with only 85 men and a small amount of firearms. The confederates had about 500 men so they easily outnumbered them. The confederate army won with no casualties on either side. Wikipedia.com
