  • Had walls around the city boarder
  • Would not let anyone enter or exit the city
  • Was to be destroyed by Joshua and an army

God said to Joshua...

  • March with his men around the city
  • March for 6 days
  • March once each day
4.

He also said...

  • That the Ark of the Covenant must be carried
  • 7 priests had to march alongside the ark
  • The 7 priests were to play ram's horn trumpets
5.

And on the 7th day...

  • They must march 7 times around the city
  • At the end of the 7th march the people will give a great shout
  • At the shout the walls will collapse and Jericho would be destroyed

Poles were used to carry the Ark of the Covenant
