The battle took place in the afternoon and set off for the Delaware where they embarked in a flotilla of the characteristic Delaware river boats.

THE AMERICANS WON THIS BATTLE

There were 2,400 American troops who had 18 guns. The main American force under Washington entered Trenton from the North-West. The remainder went North East, cutting of hessians retreat.

Casualties: The Americans suffered 4 wounded casualties. Two American soldiers froze to death. The Hessians suffered 20 killed and around 100 wounded. 1,000 were captured.
