In the story of Esther we see a young lady who is an orphan. She is not alone how ever her cousin Modecai steps in and cares for her. He gives her a godly example and protects her. Even when she is no longer living with him because she has gone to the palace he still continues to check on her everyday. Esther is not only beautiful but finds favor with others because of her character. I believe after all the quotes we have read that her character came about partly because she had a godly dad, in Modecai. Modecai did not just change Esther's future when he took her as a daughter but changed a nation too.

Modecai would have recited the Shema everyday. But he did not only recite it he lived it out. He proved he loved God with all his heart when he chose not to bow down to Haman as he only bowed to God. When he goes to ask Esther to help the Jews he expects her to do it. He had impressed Gods word on her from childhood. When these verse are obeyed by dads their children are blessed.

Modecai raised Esther in the way she should live and she dd not depart from it. She lived for God even when it meant she could loose her life.

In order to be a godly dad you need to set a godly example. You can tell your children to do what you say and not what you do. If we want our children to know God we must have integrity, We need to serve and love God at home not just when others are looking. We need to set and example of love and forgiveness. Our children need to see that we serve God and do what is right even when it hurts.

Fathers paint a picture of what God is like right or wrong. We need to love our children in such away that they understand how Goo loves and cherishes them. When we show them affirmation, love, mercy and grace they will come to understand that Gods love is like that too, just better. Our treatment of children should point them to Christ not away from Him

This a vow I adapted from the dads and daughters ball. It shows what our children need from their dads. An example and godly love. This should not only be for our daughters bit also Gods daughters too. Godly men are needed to set an example for all ladies and show the world that there are still a few good men in this world.
