"Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth."
Matthew 5:5 is the fifth verse of the fifth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew in the New Testament. It is the third verse of the Sermon on the Mount, and also third of what are known as the Beatitudes. In the King James Version of the Bible the text reads: Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
Today this means God blesses those people who are humble. The earth will belong to them.
Meek- quiet, gentle, easily imposed on, and reserved
