Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Being poor in spirit does not mean physically poor or financially poor. Jesus talks of another meaning of poor that means being humble and corsages. Jesus was poor in spirit when he was willingly crucified to save others.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
This means that you do not need to hold your emotions in side. You need to pray to your lord for comfort. God is aa person who will always be with you.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
This means you thirst to have a Godly life. Also, people who thirst for righteousness would do anything God says. Being thirsty for righteousness is a very good quality to have.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Showing mercy means to give someone relief from something that is unpleasant. This could be letting it go when someone bumps into you. Or this could be something more serious like Jesus being merciful and letting us be forgiven.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
People who are pure in heart are very king and caring people. People like Jesus who shared his love to everyone in the world. His heart was so pure that it free us from sin when he died on the cross.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Peacemaker are people who go out into the world and make peace wherever they might go. Jesus did this always with his miraculous way of finding peace in everything. Jesus is the perfect model for how to be a peace maker.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Being wrongly accused of something is something that almost everyday. But, to follow this beatitude you must keep your cool and let it go. Jesus wrongly accused many times and took the punishment willingly.
