PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Beetles always have chewing mouthparts. Their bodies are solid and tough. Also surprisingly beetles have two sets of wings! One to fly and one to protect the flying ones.
If a bombardier beetle gets swallowed by a predator, the beetle will release a fluid that will make the predator puke out the beetle alive
The Hercules beetle (as shown here) can pick up an animal 850 times its weight.
Some beetles use their mandibles to fight and push their opponents.
The mottled tortoise beetle tucks its head into its body when it feels threatened.
Stag beetles have jaws to crush other beetles to bits.
