PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Behaviors are important because animals and or humans respond to daily cycles of behavior in their everyday life.
The difference between innate and learned behaviors is that innate behaviors appear fully functional the first time they are performed even if they don't have any experience. Learned behaviors is alternating the animals behavior as a result of experience.
Also there are 4 types of learned behavior and they are habituation, classical conditioning, operant conditioning, and insight learning.
Courtship-
Is a behavior in animals by which different species select their partners for reproduction.
Two organisms that have a courtship relationship is a peacock and a penguin.
A peacock has an innate courtship behavior because of the color of their tails. A penguin has an innate courtship behavior because of their breeding process.
Operant Conditioning- animals learn to behave in certain ways through repeated practice in order to receive a reward. Two organisms that have Operant Conditioning is a dog and a mouse.
The reason a dog has operant conditioning is because for example if you have a bell and you have a bowl of dog food they are going to get use to the sound of the bell and they know that when they hear that then it is time for them to eat.
The reason a mouse has operant conditioning behavior is because for example what it they were put into a box with two switches if they push the right switch they would get some cheese but if they push the other one then they would get an electric shock. So, therefore they would get used to learning how to push the right switch in order to receive some cheese.
Insight behavior is the most complicated type of learning also known as reasoning.thus occurs when animals apply something it has already learned to a new situation. Two organisms that have insight learning is gorillas and chipmunks.
The reason why a gorilla has and insight learning behavior is because they use some of the stuff that they already know and puts it with the stuff that they learned. This also goes for a chipmunk.
Migration is a seasonal movement of animals from one region to another. Two organisms that migrate is birds and bears.
The reason why birds migrate is when it gets cold they migrate to the South. But, bears have large territories which means they migrate whenever.
Classical Conditioning learning by association when animals makes a mental connection between stimulus and reward or punishment.
Two species that have a classical conditioning learning is
