WHAT ARE THEY?

• They are believed to be the most infamous terrorist organization in recent times

HOW DID THEY FORM?

• Al-Qaeda was created by a man named Osama bin Laden
• With help from the Taliban and militant training camps all along the Afghan-Pakistani border, Al-Qaeda manifested, in which, they now have 5,000-15,000 members

WHAT DO THEY BELIEVE?

• Al-Qaeda believes the Middle East should be rid from Western influence completely
• In order to enforce their beliefs, they believe it is through violence only that the Middle East will become pure again

WHAT DO THEY DO?

• Al-Qaeda uses a wide variety of tactics to enforce their violence
• These tactics include grenade usage, suicide bombings, IEDs, hijackings, etc.

WHAT HAVE THEY DONE?

• Al-Qaeda is responsible for an enormous amount of violent attacks across the world
• Some attacks include 09/11/01 USA attacks, many Middle Eastern restaurant bombings, assassinations, etc.

HOW POWERFUL ARE THEY?

• Al-Qaeda is affiliated with at least 24 other terrorist organizations
• There is about 100,000 recorded militants in these affiliate groups alone
• Their dominance is mostly derived from this global network
