Benazir was the first female leader of a Muslim country.
She was trying to get a democratic government.
As Prime minister, she helped make Pakistan more modern by
bringing more electricity; building more schools; and helping with hunger, housing and health care.
Her dad was killed trying to make Pakistan a democratic government . She wanted to continue in his path.
She risked her life and even went to jail to try to make Pakistan a democratic government.
A suicide bomber killed her and 24 bystanders on December 27, 2007.
Pakistan is still working on becoming a democratic government.
