Heart disease, stroke, cancer, and diabetes are among the most common, costly, and preventable of health problems

Annual per capita consumption increased 25 pounds from
1970 to 2000

Reducing our sugar consumption will improve our health

The majority of the diseases in the United States are preventable by change in our daily consumption of sugar

Sugar has other names:

• Raw sugar
• Maltose or sucrose
• Cane sugar
• Corn sweetener
• Syrup, honey
• Fruit juice concentrates
• Molasses
• High fructose corn syrup

• Men : 150 calories per day
(37.5 g or 9 teaspoon)

• Women : 100 calories per day
(25 g or 6 teaspoon)

Orange Juice 8 oz
6 Teaspoons
24 g of sugar

20 oz = 16 ts of sugar

67 g of sugar

Consuming too much sugar can make you gain weight.

Health Problems
