Beowulf has to kill the dragon even though he knows he may not survive.

He and his warriors go to the battle but Beowulf tells them to stay behind. It is his last battle to fight.

As he goes into battle he shouts his battle cry and wakes the dragon.

Beowulf strikes the dragon with the sword making it flaps its wings.

Now Beowulf is in trouble, but his warriors are afraid to fight.

but one warrior isn't afraid

Wiglaf comes to Beowulf's rescue

The dragon is fighting so fiercely that he bites Beowulf

Wiglaf is then forced to strike the dragon and kill him after scolding his fellow warriors for not helping.

Wiglaf tries to help Beowulf but he knows he will die.

Beowulf's dying wish is to see his treasures one more time and to make a mound in his memory.

Wiglaf then proceeds to bring his treasures.

As a thank you, Beowulf pronounces Wiglaf the king.

The next thing he does is throw the dragon over a cliff and heads straight to the kingdom to build Beowulf's mound.

Beowulf and his people live happily with Wiglaf as their king and the dragon finally gone.
