  • He was the the fourth of nine children in his family
  • Bernard was the son of Maud and Bishop Henry Montgomery
  • He was then educated at St. Paul's school
  • When old enough Montgomery was educated in Sandhurst

WHEN AND WHERE DID THEY GAIN POWER?

  • After graduating military school he was promoted lieutenant
  • He was then made brigade major after being wounded in a battle in WW1
  • By the end of WW1 he became a general staff officer
  • After fighting in many battles in WW2 and after WW2 he would become field marshal
