These 3 major interwar events had great effects on the world. For example, the world's economy went down and the old international system was torn down.

failure of the treaty of versailles

  • Ended the war between Germany and the Allies.
  • Blamed Germany for the war and imposed heavy debt on them.
  • Major factor in the start of WWll.

League of nations

  • First worldwide government to help world peace.
  • After the turmoil caused by the Versailles Treaty, many looked to the League of Nations to bring stability to the world.

Global Depression

  • Global economic crisis from political decisions post-WWl.
  • Unemployment, housing, and prices all took heavy hits.
  • Countries also struggled to pay war debts.

Totalitarian States rise

  • These states rise because of the economic struggle of the world.
  • For example, the only way for Germany to rise back to power was if Hitler and the Nazis dominated Europe and restored German greatness.
