Predators

  • The predators of the big horn is mountain loins bobcats and coyotes
  • There keen eyesight helps them see predators for a long ways awa

Breeding season

  • During mating season rums fight over the ewes
  • When the rams fight they truly fight head on to see who is the alpha male and wins all mating rights
  • Ewes have their babies in about July to November and mating is a year round thing

Facts about the breed

  • Both genders develop horns soon after birt
  • Ewes unlike rams have light small horns that tend to curl
  • Older rams have really net set of curling horns that measuring three feet or more
  • After eight years of growth,the horns of an adult ram may more than 30 pounds
