HOW THE BILL OF RIGHTS CAME TO BE

The bill of rights was thought up by the anti-federalist group ( people who thought the gov. would have to much power). In order to become a government the states had to agree on the constitution, however most of the state supported the anti-federalist. The bill of rights was written by James Madison and ratified in 1791.

WHY IT MATTERS

The reason why the bill of rights is in the constitution is because it protects the rights of the people and limits the power of the government and it tells the gov. what they can and can't do.

HOW IT RELEVANT TODAY

Many court cases today have to deal with the bill of rights. Sometime government official or regular people violate the bill of rights. Now a days we can express our selves to a curtain extent. The bill of rights provides us the rights to express our selves without prosecution, have a fair and quick trial without a high bail, and limit government.

MY OPINION ON THE RELEVANCE

Without the bill of rights today our government would have to much power and our country would be close to ruin. Thanks to James Madison we now have a bill of rights that is still keeping the government in check, although our government is still young and has a long way to go it would not be possible without the bill of right
