Color Blindness

SYMPTOMS

  • May see some colors but not others
  • May see many colors, so you may not know you se colors differently
  • May not be able to see certain shades of a color
  • Rare case if person only sees black, white, and gray
  • Can find out if color blind by a color blind test

Causes

  • Majority of time it is enetically inherited
  • Present at birth
  • Not always inherited
  • Caused by aging, eye problems, injury or side effects of medicine

Treatments

  • surgery in some cases
  • Wearing colored contacts
  • Wearing glasses that block glare

FUN FACTS

  • Color blindness is more prevalant among men than women
  • About 8% of all men suffer color blindness
  • If woman is colorblind, all her sons will be
  • 99% of all colorblind people suffer from red-green color blindness
