FACT 1

  • Bioengineering's proper name or term is biomedical engineering, because they make an assortment of medical tools and artificial organs and limbs.

FACT 2

  • In 1970, the MRI, or magnetic resonance imaging scan was invented

FACT 3

  • In the year 1896, a french scientist named Henry Becquerel found out that X-rays could be taken with uranium ore

FACT 4

  • In 1881, Samuel von Basch invented the blood pressure meter

  • In the year 1791, a man named Luigi Galvani invented the frog galvanoscope, a device used to detect voltage, which was made with a frog's leg

FACT 7

  • Through bioengineering, the first bionic arm was invented in 1993, it consisted of motors and pulleys, and was connected to the nervous system.

FACT 8

FACT 10

  • Bioengineers have created an assortment of artificial organs, like artificial noses, lungs, and hearts, as well as tools to help organs work better, such as pacemakers.
