Inference

  • Combining what you know with what you've learned.
  • Coming to a logical conclusion based off of observations you've made.
  • Ex. I heard a car zooming past me very fast. I heard him hit the breaks then seconds later I heard a crash. I inferred that the car hit something.

Theory

Hypothesis

  • Testable explanation of a situation
  • a explanation that has Limited evidence, but the starting point for Further investigation.

Control Group:
The group in an experiment or study that does not receive treatment

Experimental Group

  • The group in an experiment that receives the variable being tested

Independent Variable

The variable that is changed by the experimenter
