What exactly is biomass?

• It is the use of organic material and turning it into energy
• In the background there is a cycle shown and this is the process

WHAT CAN IT BE USED FOR?

• Well one major thing is that it could replace the use of coal
• It can be used to create heat so instead of using microwaves we could use biomass
• which is less harmful

How is it used today?

• Today it is used to power over 1.3 million homes per plant
• It decreases trash deposits so that the air isn't as polluted
• If you have a dog that poops a lot then well donate that poop Irrelevant
• Although it uses plants ,that use of plants is more in a higher quantity than coal

WHERE IT STARTED

• The BEE project started the biomass campaign in Europe.
• They experimented with it first and tested it during 2005-10 into the future 2030

Effects on the enviroment

• It may cause deforestation
• Since because it uses grains and organic energy that involves trees and grass and stuff like that
• So it may not be one of the best solutions of energy but it is still an amazing discovery

Is it used today

• At trash depots they melt trash into biomass energy
• The toilet water transfers peoples poop into energy disgusting though
• Farms take cow poop and give it to people that transfer it to biomass
