HOW TO BUILD A BIRD HOUSE

THINGS YOU'LL NEED

  • Dried, cured gourd
  • Drill
  • Appropriatley sized drill
  • 1/8inch to 3/8 inch drit
  • Hanging cord

  • Fine-Grit sand paper
  • Weatherproof paint
  • Water-resistant finish
  • And Time

STEP1

  • Connect the 2 bottom pieces
  • You'll need two pieces of 1x6 lumber
  • One should cut to 5 1/2 in length
  • The other should cut to 6 1/4 in length
  • Connect them so they overlap

STEP2

  • Attach the back panel
  • Cut back panel from a piece of plywood
  • Glue along the back edge of the bottom pieces
  • Once it dries screw at four equally spaced positions
  • So its passing through the back piece snd into the edge

STEP 3

  • Attach the roof
  • Lie the birdhouse down on a stable work surface
  • Take two roof panels, cut from1x6 boards
  • One will need to be cut to 9" in length
  • The other will need to be 8 1/4

  • Fit the pieces so that they overlap
  • Glue the. Screw them into place, using 4 equally screw

STEP 4

  • Add support braces
  • Get 4 L brackets and install them at the center
  • Make sure screws used to install the brackets
  • They should go only to the mid point of the wood

STEP5

  • Glue the edges of the side pieces and roof pieces
  • Fit the front piece in place and add 8 screws
  • Two evenly placed screws for each side and roof piece

STEP6

  • Sand the edges
  • Entrance hole, somthere smooth

  • Screw in two eyes bolts at equal points
  • It may help to pre-drill holes

  • Cut your dowel rod to 3"
  • Place it in thr perch hole
  • Allow to dry

STEP11

  • Finish it by Adding designs
  • Adding colors
  • Adding little Antiques
