WHAT CAUSES THE PROBLEM?

  • Poaching and killing.
  • People run out of money and can't get better jobs so they sell birds for hundreds of dollars.
  • People can't pay for their homes so they move to the forests, and disturb the animals habitat.

WHAT IS BEING DONE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM?

  • Wildlife officers are making preservers for the endangered birds.
  • No one is allowed in the reserve.
  • If someone is caught killing, catching, or selling birds they have to serve 2 1/2 years in prison.
  • When officers find sick/injured birds they take them to a vet and are nursed back to health.

WHAT CAN WE DO INDIVIDUALLY TO HELP?

  • Some people have made websites and on them you can donate money for the birds.
  • People also have donated money to the vets who help the birds.
