Vladimir Guralnik
Born into a family of pastry chefs he didn't want to be one. He wanted to work in the factories, but ended up "adding a few more kilograms to the waistlines and generous derrieres of my compatriots," as he says.

  • Created in 1978
  • The idea was originated from a candy
  • It took six months to create the recipe
  • Within one year the demand was so high that the had to make 500-600 cakes a day

The origin of the name comes from an old saying in Russia about people who live in plenty. The only thing that they are lacking is birds milk.

RECIPE

CAKE

  • 3/4c Sugar
  • 3/4c Margarine
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 1/2c Sifted Flour
  • 1/2tsp vanilla

SOUFFLÈ

  • 4Tbsp Agar-Agar
  • 1 3/4c Water
  • 2 1/2c Sugar
  • 1tsp Lemon Juice
  • 3 Egg Whites
  • Pinch of Cream of Tartar
  • 1c Butter Softened @ Room Temp
  • 1/2c Sweetened Condensed Milk

CHOCOLATE GLAZE

  • 1c Bitter Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • 2Tbsp butter
