The Black Death arrived in Europe in 1347 by ship.
The first known arrival of the Black Death was 12 Genoese trading ships. When the ship arrived and people got on to help unload most of the sailors were already dead or close to death.

The Black Death killed more than 1/3 of the population in the world at the time.
In total the population went from 450 million down to 350-375 million people in total. The world population in total didn't recover until the 17th century

The plague will have symptoms within 7-10 days after being infected.
The plague affects the lymph nodes (part of the lymph system) and you will soon experience flu like symptoms such as fever, headaches, chills, weakness, and swollen or tender lymph nodes.

The plague pretty much disappeared in the winter and then reappeared in the spring. This happens because the fleas that were on the rats that spread it were not out. This same pattern occurred for 5 years and always reappeared in the spring after being gone in the winter .

The people used a bunch of different remedies to try to "cure" their loved ones of the plague. The people believed disease came from God so they used a bunch of prayer processions to try to rid the plague from the loved ones. But no body could ever figure out a way for their loved one to get over the plague.

As researchers were looking for a "cure" to the Black Death they adopted a new scientific method. This new scientific method that they wanted to use later led to the renaissance. The renaissance was known as the time of rebirth and relearning originated in Italy.

you were not able to get the plague if you weren't bitten by a rodent. In fact the rodent that bit had to have been infected too so if you got bit by a rodent who wasn't infected you weren't infected. Humans could transmit the disease by coughing sneezing etc.

Most of the rats who carried the fleas soon died after they had infected a person. After the rat dies the fleas would go find a new rat to infect until they die. So if this would continue to spread the plague.

The plague was called the "Black Death" because of one of the symptoms of the plague. The plague would slowly kill different parts of your body at different times. This would slowly cause different parts of the dead body to turn a dark black color causing people to call it the "Black Death."

the Black Death would follow every trade route known to every country the trade route went through. With the rats going through trade routes it cause the Black Death to spread from trade routes. Although the very origin of the Black Death is seemed to be the Gobi desert.

Conclusion: the Black Death was very impactful in history by killing 1/3 of the population. Although the Black Death still exists today it's not near as serious today. The Black Death had spread so fast nobody had time to prepare for how many people were going to be killed.
