LOCATION:

• Found gulf wide
• Offshore or nearshore
• Found where mud is very common
• Bottom of ocean bed

SIZE/ LIFESPAN

• Averages from 1-10 pounds
• Largest ever recorded= 116 pounds
• Live up to 40 years

LEGAL LIMITS:

• The size limit of the black drum is 14 to 30 inches
• Anglers can catch ONE fish over 52 inches a day
• 5 fish a day

HOW TO CATCH IT:

• Use non-artificial bait
• Shrimps, mullets, squids, crab,etc.
• Fish around bridges (fish tend to gather there)
• This fish will play with the bait so wait for it run for a few seconds
• These fish will require more patients to catch

• Has many tiny whiskers by its mouth
• Are found in super clear waters AND super muddy waters
• Located from New York - Gulf of Mexico
