BLOOD SPATTER PATTERNS

ARTERIAL SPURTING

  • It is a blood stain/ pattern that results in blood exiting from the body under pressure of an artery

BACK SPATTER

  • Blood directed backward to the force the caused the spatter

CAST-OFF PATTERN

  • A bloodstain/ spatter that is released or thrown from an object containing blood in motion

HIGH-VELOCITY IMPACT STAIN

  • A bloodstain pattern of a high velocity object to a blood source such as a gunshot or other machinery

MEDIUM-VELOCITY IMPACT SPATTER

  • A blood stain pattern caused by a medium impact and or source such as a beating

LOW VELOCITY IMPACT SPATTER

  • A bloodstain pattern caused by a low velocity impact/ force to a blood source

PASSIVE DROP

  • A bloodstain dropout drops that are created only with gravity acting upon it

  • A transfer of blood from a moving source onto another I stained surface. Direction of motion can be shown by the feathering at either

  • A bloodstain pattern created when one surface that is bloody comes in contact with another surface. After the contact you may see what object in-fact was covered with the blood
