• Blood exiting body under arterial pressure
• Large stains with downward flow on vertical surfaces
• Wave-form of pulsatile flow may be apparent

Back Spatter

Blood directed back towards the source of energy or force

Cast-Off Pattern

A bloodstain created when blood is released or thrown from anblood bearing object in motion

High Velocity Impact

A bloodstain pattern caused by a high velocity impact/force to a blood source such as produced by a gunshot
