GOAL SETTING

Short term goals are goals that can be completed in one year or less.

Long term goals are larger goals that are set more towards the future that take a year or longer.

SMART GOALS

SPECIFIC, MEASUREABLE, ATTAINABLE, REALISTIC, TIME BOUND.

LEARNING STYLE

My learning style is auditory. I learn best by listening to and remembering instructions. A learning tip for me would be to sit near the teacher so I could hear the directions clearly.

SELF-CONCEPT

Self concept- the way a person sees themselves.

Self esteem- the way a person feels about themselves.

Both self esteem and self concept can be negatively or positively affected by people's reactions to your actions and your confidence in the ability you're performing.

COMMUNICATION

Verbal communication- through words

Non-Verbal communication- through gestures or body language

"I" messages should be used as a way to tell someone that they're using destructive communication towards you without blaming them directly.

Example: "'I' don't think I'm being treated fairly."

People who are bullies tend to be insecure or have been a victim of bullying at least one point in their life.

HOW TO STOP BULLYING

  • Don't be a bystander
  • Don't spread rumors
  • Tell an adult

DATING

The purposes of dating are to improve skills in socialization, recreation, and mate selection.

Research shows that physical attractiveness and a good personality are the top two factors to developing and sustaining a good relationship.

Infatuation- Love that happens quickly, often short lived.

Love- Happens over time, long lasting, more meaningful.
