The first Chinese boats
were invented during the Shang dynasty
These boats were really just
planks tied together
Later, came the Junk
These are multi sail boats.
Junks have very unique shapes
With low bows, and high sterns
There are many variations of the junk.
The armed version was called a Tower Ship
They would have three story
buildings on top of the main deck.
The first Chinese Navy
was formed during the Song Dynasty
The Chinese
also had huge treasure ships!
These ships might have been
The first to cirumnavigate the globe.
Fun Fact:
In the Summer Palace in China, there is a marble boat.
The Funny thing is...
It's made of wood and stone, not marble!
