WHO CELEBRATES BODY DAY?

  • Bodhi Day is celebrated by Buddhists primarily by Buddhists who live in the pure land.
  • Pure land is a tradition of Buddhist teachings focused on Amitābha Buddha.

WHEN IS BODHI DAY CELEBRATED?

  • Bodhi Day is celebrated December 8th annually over the span of one day.

  • Bodhi Day is one day long but, for they next 30 days they bring a sacred ficus tree to thier homes AND LIGHT CANDLES EACH DAY TO REPRESENT THE ENLIGHTENMENT BUDDHA FOUND UNDER THE FICUS TREE.

WHAT IS BODHI DAY?

  • Bodhi Day is a day of meditation, prayer, and study.
  • THEY WILL DECORATE THE SACRED FICUS TREES WITH ORNAMENTS THAT REPRESENT THE THREE JEWELS OF BUDDHISM(THE BUDDHA, DHARMA, AND SANGHA).
  • THIS SHOULD SOUND FAMILIAR!
