  • Hematoma formes
  • -> blood filled swelling
  • new tissue develops

STEP 2

  • A callus is made out of fibrocartilage
  • Eventually fibrocartilage gets replaced
  • by bony callus

  • Bony callus is remodeled to form
  • a permanent patch.

RESULTS

  • It takes 3-10 weeks to heal a bone
  • depending on the bone and the age of the person.
  • Afterwards the bone is a little bit thicker
  • and therefore stronger
