NIGHT OF BATTLE

  • Started December 16, 1773
  • They threw 342 chests
  • Over 100 men were recruited
  • It was in Boston

SONS OF lIBERTY

  • They organized it
  • Led by Samuel Adams
  • Protest against tea act and taxation
  • Many people who took part in the tea party wanted to remain unknown they feared because that they might be punished.

THREE SHIPS

  • The Beaver, The Dartmouth, and The Eleanor.
  • They dressed up as Indians.
  • A portion of tea from a ship called the William that got destroyed by a wild storm was also damaged by the Sons of Liberty.

  • They threw off 90,000 pounds of tea.
  • That would equal 45 tons of tea.
  • That would equal $1,000,000 dollars of tea today.
  • The ships where actually American Ships.
