• 342 chests of tea belonging to eat India company.
• India company in odds because of the war debt.
• It took nearly three hours for more than 100 colonist to empty the tea.
• the chest help more than 9,000 lbs  of tea that cost nearly 1,000 today

• Townshend acts- imposing taxes on various products

what were its effects

• Parliament passed a series of laws 
• Intolerable acts- Boston port bill which shut off the city's sea trade 
• more taxes to pay the dept of a war
